Parky has been a MissImp member since 2009 and currently runs Little Imps – MissImp’s improv group for 8-12 year olds.
Since 2009 Parky has been a freelance writer and copywriter providing content for a range of international clients. He also lectures in copywriting at the University of Nottingham.
He recently spent two years stalking random 80’s pop stars in the name of ‘research’ for his first book, 101 Forgotten Pop Hits of the 1980s. The acclaimed encyclopaedia of a decade’s music was published in 2010 and, at its peak, reached the top 30,000 bestsellers on Amazon (it’s currently 562,063rd). TV funnyman Alexander Armstrong said he ‘can’t put it down’ and that he ‘loved’ it. There you go.
Parky’s been a performer with MissImp since 2011 although his finest stage performance was singing on the same bill as Spandau Ballet legend Tony Hadley. This involved belting out a soaring rendition of Elton John’s Your Song whilst dressed as the portly knight of the realm.
Parky’s also MissImp’s resident quiz show expert. He appeared on forgotten Channel 4 show Fifteen to One on two occasions – winning one and then being narrowly defeated by a grumpy tour guide from Devon – and appeared on the hit BBC1 show Pointless with his mum (aaah) in March 2013.
Parky is married to the lovely Di who runs the amazing online craft shop Badgers Badgers. (You should visit it here. It’s ace). They have five cats, a dog and, regularly, a smart nine year old named Madeleine.
