Improv Nonsense: MissImp In Action Saturday 6 November 2021

MissImp is back at Nonsuch Studios for another month of comedy and theatre! You can expect a buffet of the finest comedy games and sketches for your delectation. Whether it’s fast-paced wit or belly-laugh characters, you’re in for a great time at this show that returns to and celebrates MissImp’s original performance roots.

MEET THE CAST!

Adam Hodgson is very grateful to be in the team tonight. A film, tv and stage actor with a love for improvised ensemble work, having trained in at East 15 acting school, he is one part of Squares in the Round improv team appearing next week as part of NCF.

Jamie Drew has been a writer and improviser in Nottingham for the past six years and is currently helping rebuild UoN’s improv society after Covid. He believes people should start taking Rick Ashley seriously as a singer-songwriter.

Marilyn Ann Bird is a full-time actor and voiceover artist. She’s been doing improv with MissImp for around two decades. She performs with It’s a Trap! The Improvised Star Wars Show, Rhymes Against Humanity and anyone else who will have her. She once met Colin Mochrie and wants to be Josie Lawrence when she grows up.

Ishi Khan: funny Women’s best show award nominee, Ishi has been regularly improvising and standing up as a comedian since 2008. She’s currently touring her 3rd solo show, “I’mMigrant!” One day she hopes to do a cartwheel and ride a bike, not at the same time. She speaks English, Punjabi and fluent Cat.

Laurie Owen can’t really explain what he ‘does’ for a living. He has been improvising with MissImp for five years, and taught as Head of Improv at Leeds University Comedy Society for three years. He also makes theatre, writes for LARPs, made a website that teaches improvisational piano, sometimes demonstrates boardgames, and wrote a dissertation about Dungeons & Dragons. Please contact Laurie if you have a good idea for a LinkedIn profile title.

Nick Tyler lives happily detached from reality, in a largely imaginary world of cats, books, science fiction & fantasy, LEGO, and improv. A MissImp lifer, Nick’s usually found on Thursdays and playing at Star Wars.

If you’d like to help us keep these activities going and keep our lights on we’d be immensely grateful. Together, we can get through this.
