Improv Drop-In Every Thursday*

Fancy getting involved? Come along to one of our fun, welcoming, drop-in sessions.

The drop-in sessions are perfect for absolute beginners who’ve never been on stage! You don’t need any experience in comedy, improv, acting, etc and you don’t have to be “funny” or “witty” or “clever”. As long as you’re willing to throw yourself in and have some fun, this is the perfect place for you!

A silly old good time!

You’ll get to do loads of improv scenes and games within a loose workshop structure, combining skills development with all sorts of fun and games. The sessions are led by experienced MissImp performers and teachers in a fun, supportive, and welcoming atmosphere. They focus on different aspects of improv but are mainly about learning, having fun, and doing some great scenes together.

Whether you’re new to improv and you simply want to have fun or a hardened improv veteran, we can’t wait to see you at the next session!

*On the second Thursday of each month the drop-in transforms into Gorilla Burger – a show open to the public. Everyone can get on stage and perform – although you’re also welcome to come along, watch and cheer. Buy your drinks upstairs and bring them down.

Every Thursday
7.30 – 9.30pm | £5 / 3 concessions

Improv Drop-In: Thursday 21 March 2019 - This week’s drop-in: Whose Line  Brought to you by Nick. The eponymous game of the amazing improv radio and TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, a staple of shortform shows and one of my favourite games of all time. I love it because of the apparent randomness the lines throw into a scene, and…
Gorilla Burger – Improvised Comedy Carnage – Thursday 14 March 2019 - Gorilla Burger – Mad March! Woah, somehow it’s halfway through March already! Get your game on tonight with Cupid’s improv games and scenes where YOU are the star! This month, Ben will direct the action, leading players into our new long-form sections as well as the jam! Alongside the usual names and games being drawn…
Improv Drop-In: Thursday 7 March 2019 - This week’s drop-in: Finding a Tree in a Wood  Brought to you by Jack. Sometimes we get suggestions that are generic or don’t pique our interest enough to get our comedy flowing. This week’s workshop is about generating ideas as a group before scenes begin, to help us find that thing that is unusual and…
Improv Drop-In: Thursday 28 February 2019 - This week’s drop-in: All By Myself – Soloprov Made Easy!  Brought to you by Emily. We all know improv is a team sport, but what happens on those rare occasions when you find yourself completely alone on stage? Do you panic? Freeze up? Flee? NO! You take a deep breath and make the stage your…
Improv Drop-In: Thursday 21 February 2019 - This week’s drop-in: Super Agreement  Brought to you by Richard. So there is an improviser named Katy Schutte (author of a great book called The Improviser’s Way: A Longform Workbook) who wrote about the improv phenomenon of pimping as follows: “When we ask someone to ‘read that poem you’ve been working on’ or ‘do that…
