Why are improvisers told to not ask questions? What’s wrong with questions? What do I do if I do ask a question? Will I get in trouble? Will my scene partner support me? What am I supposed to do instead? What do I do if I’m asked a question? Do I answer? Is that what we’ll learn about at the drop-in?
Although a staple of everyday conversation, questions are much maligned in improv so this week we shall ironically be asking why. We’ll be examining their mechanics, their dynamic within scenes and how we can approach them more effectively. By the end, you’ll be fully prepared for the next time your scene partner asks, “Would you like a cup of tea?”
This workshop is suitable for beginners.
