This week’s drop-in: You’re The Voice
Brought to you by Parky.

There are lots of different ways of creating interesting characters in improv. You can be inspired by your scene partner, inspired by the name you’re given, or inspired by a particular emotion or physical trait.
One fun way to create interesting characters that are often slightly different from yourself is through your voice. Adopting an unusual accent, a strange vocal tic or simply pitching your voice higher or lower can turn you into a completely different character.
Ever tried starting a scene with a West Country accent? Or as a Dane? Or spoken ever-so-posh because your scene partner calls you Wing Commander Smithers in their opening line?
That’s what we’ll be doing this week: experimenting with voices and accents to create memorable characters using nothing but our mouths.
