This week’s drop-in: Knowing Me, Knowing You (Aha!)
Brought to you by Parky.
How many scenes have you witnessed where more than half of it deals with the two people actually meeting for the first time? Saying ‘hello’, finding out what people’s names are, and how they are doing is rarely the most important bit of a scene. What we really want to get to is the juicy bit – what these people are up to, where they are, and how they know each other.

So, we’re going to repeat one of the most productive sessions we do. Every scene will start half way through, meaning that you’re already part of the way through a conversation, and past all the ‘hello, how are you?’ stage.
What does this do? It means we get to the action faster. It means that you start your scene with the assumption that you know information and details about your scene partner. There’s at least a three minute back-story, (and often a lot more).
An evening of watching the middle, interesting bit of scenes. Lovely.
