The suggestions we get for a scene can be explored in a million different ways, but often they are taken literally. Such interpretation can work perfectly well, but it can also be limiting and restricting to our scene partners and the possible scope of a scene. This week we’re going to encourage players to hop skip and jump as far from the original suggestion as possible – stretching meaning to encompass personal meanings, themes and simply being wildly inspired by a word. Literalists will be beaten, literally (not “literally figuratively”; literally).
