Plan Ahead, Get Ahead

Sign up for our next Level 1 Introduction to Improv Comedy, a six week course starting in September which is ideal for complete beginners as well as anyone wishing to reboot their improv brain. It’s closely followed by the Level 2 Creating Characters Intensive Weekend in October which will propel your improv brain into earth orbit. Make sure you book your place before the early bird price runs out…

Fancy a quick workshop? Our next All-Female Improv Workshop is coming up on 7 July, with Nikki & Pippa off of The Vortex. Maybe you want to bring out the actor inside – check out the Dramatic Improvisation Workshop with Between Us on 20 July.

Lots of fun stuff going on! Read about a pair of our improvisers exploring the improv scene in Slovakia and Austria: Dave & Orla Do Improv in Bratislava & Vienna.

All-Female Improv Workshop | Sunday 07 July 2019

So often in life, we’re busy fixing things. Taking care. Making things better. In improv, we need to do the opposite, but that can be difficult when it’s so different to what we normally do.

In this workshop, we’ll work on making things worse (in the most supportive way!) and see how heightening can improve our scenes. Time to increase the fun and fork things up!

This workshop will be taught by Nikki and Pippa – two of the finest improvisers on the Nottingham scene!

Learn Dramatic Improvisation with Between Us | Saturday 20 July 2019

Improv is a great tool for comedy, but it also creates engaging and mesmerising dramas. In this workshop we’ll teach you how to create scenes and characters full of emotional truth that will have your audience completely absorbed. Rachel trained as an actress at Drama Studio London and co-founded CSI: Crime Scene ImprovisationAlex is co-founder of Stürike. Together they created the improvised drama Between Us, a bittersweet story about what it means to be in love.

Level 1 Intro to Improv – 6 Week Course | Monday 02 September 2019 to Monday 07 October 2019

This is our introduction to the wonderful world of improvised comedy theatre! Complete beginners are more that welcome – you don’t need experience in improv, acting, comedy, or performing! You don’t need to be “funny”, witty, or clever either – you just need to turn up ready to jump in and have fun! Improv’s not about one person, it’s about working as a team to create something together (and have the best time doing it)!

Level 2 Creating Characters – Intensive | Friday 11 October 2019 to Sunday 13 October 2019

This course builds directly on from our Intro to Improv and focuses on one of the things people find most fun about our level 1 (and doing improv in general) – characters! One of the many things that we love about improv is that we are not bound by who we are in the “real world”. From scene to scene we might play pirates or astronauts, lovers or politicians, race-car drivers or inanimate objects – with a supportive scene partner by your side, the scope is limitless!
